ÖGVT
Austrian Society for Behavioural Therapy
The Austrian Society for Behavioural Therapy (ÖGVT) is a scientific society and training institution dedicated to the development, teaching and quality assurance of behavioural therapy methods in psychotherapy and clinical practice. The society organises training programmes, further training and scientific activities and thus promotes the continuous further development of evidence-based psychotherapeutic methods in Austria.
As part of its training, the ÖGVT imparts a comprehensive understanding of modern behavioural therapy, which includes both theoretical principles and practice-oriented methods such as exposure procedures, cognitive therapy, social skills training or mindfulness and relaxation procedures. The close combination of theory, practical application and supervision provides candidates with a sound professional qualification and promotes the application of scientifically based therapy concepts in clinical practice.
